TUTORIAL ON CERVICAL SCREENING

The following questions will be discussed in the tutorial

What is cervical screening for?

Included in discussion is incidence, geographic variations, cytological diagnoses and histological diagnoses.

Question 2

Who should be screened and how should it happen?

Included in the discussion is the age range, frequency and method of taking a smear. Comment should be made on the WHO criteria for screening.

Question 3

What is colposcopy about?

Included in the discussion are the criteria for referral to colposcopy; what happens in colposcopy; who should have treatment; and how treatment is performed.
