Guidelines for the transfer of St George's patients to the gynaecological oncology team

OUTPATIENTS

Patients can be referred to the Gynaecological Oncology centre team by faxing a referral to 020 8725 5954. Patients will be seen at the next available opportunity in one of the gynaecological oncology clinics.

INPATIENTS
The oncall gynaecological oncology team offers a level 2 on-call service that compliments the acute gynaecology rota. This means that the consultant on call is available for phone consultations but may be up to four hours away. An acute service is not available and patients admitted via casualty are dealt with by the acute gynaecology team. The gynaecological oncology team will accept transfers to their care during working hours on weekdays.

The consultant gynaecological oncology staff cannot make themselves available for obstetric emergencies and have no personal medical indeminity for obstetrics.
